Breakfast

We had breakfast in Boulder at 7:30, which meant we were supposed to be up by 6:15 to get there on time, which, of course, meant that Jet was actually up at 5:15. Luckily, John took care of him after my all-day stint with him. I do not understand how 'normal' moms do this, and I'm all the more impressed by Janne, who does this all by herself. I can't imagine being a single parent, it would just be impossible for me to not have someone to hand off with, being the way my personality is built, I'd probably have tied my tubes if I hadn't been as sure as I was of Rosty.

Anyway, breakfast with Xiaoxing was great fun, she held Jet, and then watched him have his first stint in a restaurant high chair. She didn't know it was his first time, but she was pretty impressed by how well he balanced himself and didn't once whack his head on the table. That was good. He also ate slices of banana off my pancakes, and was generally cheerful, wiggly, and interested in everything new he could spot. She enjoyed visiting with him and bought our breakfasts, which was unexpected but very nice.

Now, I should tackle more work before John has his 1 'o' clock meeting.
