Jet did not sleep the whole way home, he slept in 90 minute intervals, until about 6 am, then he slept until we got home around 10:30. He woke up when we stopped and yelled, "Yay! Yay! Home!"
I guess he was ready to come home. We spent a week and a half in Bellevue, with a two day stop up in Vancouver that was magical. John and I got to go, just ourselves, and we wandered the city, saw Granville Island, Stanley Park, and walked the water front as well. We got to eat French-style crepes, Middle Eastern Food, sipped mochas at a latte art cafe, and had fantastic fare at "C" a really nice restaurant that no two-year-old would want to be caught in. Jet had quality time with Isabel and George, going to the park at least once a day, sometimes twice. We went swimming, feasting with friends and their kids that ran around just as much, and I got to see Raven for a while. I haven't seen him for four years, it's been too long.
I would highly, highly, highly recommend "Pulse", the Stomp! IMAX movie. I also got to read half a dozen books. I loved "The Gumshoe, the Witch, and the Virtual Corpse", as it was more interesting with more complex and less facile characters than "The Gumshoe Gorilla". Both were by Kevin Hartman, and both were well above average.
I've actually read more in the past month than I have for quite some time. Yay! I figure that from now one I may as well read whenever Jet's watching TV or something. Though he shows a propensity to come hunting for my book when I do that. Then I can read to him, instead of watching cartoons, not a bad deal.
It was a good month off. My hands actually aren't any better. I am updating the big version of the whole trip even as I speak. I think that it may well be the journal that's the culprit for a lot of this. I was able to dictate half a dozen entries, and it was good to do that on cool porches in summer houses; but harder to find the isolation and quiet to do it than just typing into my Visor while John drove. Now that I'm home that may change. We'll have to see.
