(no subject)

So John's on another, stronger set of antibiotics, and it's working out well for him. The doc said that it's a normal thing to do, if the infection isn't killed by the first series, they turn the bigger guns onto it and so on. There's still a couple more steps up from where we are at the moment, which is kind of good to know. Turns out that my second series of antibiotics are actually stronger than John's first set. Sadly, I'm slowed down a bit by an intestinal bug that Jet had on Sunday. With him it was pretty quick to go, so I can hope it'll be the same with me. In the meantime, I'm sluggish and eating nothing but plain musubi.

The Tamaki Haiga rice is really interesting. It looks like I'm eating frog's eggs, as there's this translucent bubble at the end of each grain. Beautiful when cooked, it still tastes like 'normal' white rice.

Jet's eating a cherry chip ice cream cone (pink!) while watching My Neighbor Totoro in the original Japanese. The language difference doesn't seem to bother him at all. He's even echoing Mai's learning of Japanese, sometimes repeating the words that she repeats. I'll admit that I love the pace of the movie for Jet, as it's real-life paced, not frantic with images or action or shouting at him for attention. He's really calm and interested while watching it. That's cool.
