It's very strange to not have Jet in the house for the first time in nearly three weeks. It's so quiet. He had a really excellent night last night, only got up once, at 3 am, and then woke up for real at 6:30. That was very good. So interesting to get gradually back into the normal run of things.

John and I took Jet over to Joan's together so we could see her and talk with her a bit and it was fun. Got to talk about the last three weeks a bit, and Jet got to smile at Haley and peer at Alex running around with all his new toys and a cold he'd gotten while they were gone. It was a mite wrenching to leave as Jet was watching me as I went. He was solemn, not crying or sad or anything, but just quiet.

I think it would be hard to not have any knowledge of what was going to happen next, sometimes, at least. Then again, that's pretty much how life's been going for him so far, so maybe it's nothing new. I think he'll be fine, but it's just interesting to realize why some parents might find it hard to let their kids go for a while...
