The manager of the hospitality suite, who is in charge of the garden, said that they'd gotten between 2500 to 3000 pounds of produce from the garden this year! Woohoo. The long-time manager of the whole Center said that the year before, which had been the best year they'd had with the garden ever, they'd only gotten 1000 pounds of produce.
Woah. And this during a year when I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. Yeesh...
They asked me to help again next year. I had a weak moment and said, "Oh. Okay. Sure. I'll do it next year, too."
At least now I'll have some clue as to what I'm doing and what *not* to plant along with what *to* plant. That's all to the good. Plus, this year, I'll actually remember to mark the receipts for my seeds as "donated to the OUR center" so I can claim them against my taxes.
