Oh My God...

I have akuni's hummingbird painting posted on my Deviant Art gallery...

... and someone asked today, if it would be okay if they took a print of it to their tattoo artist. They wanted it, cherry blossoms and all, as they'd been looking for a hummingbird for a really long time...

I'm... flabbergasted and gave her my consent. I'm still bemused at the thought of someone carrying my art on their skin for the rest of their lives.
That's awesome! Congratulations!

I can see how the hummingbird would work well as a tattoo; it's got that iconic crispness without being too simple. *beams*
I'm not astonished - it's utterly gorgeous. I've shown my husband a number of the pictures you've posted, and his first thought was that you were a professional. Admittedly he's not an art expert - but he certainly thinks that they're worth money.
*smiles* Wow... that's a great compliment. Thank you! I'm so very glad that they please like that. There's actually a local gallery that, if I actually start to get things mounted, I might start showing at... it should be interesting to see how much interest that actually generates.
Screenshots or it didn't happen! No - seriously - I hope they send you a picture. It's quite a beautiful painting. It would be interesting to see how it translates.

There's an Anna's Hummingbird feeding outside the window here as I type - despite the snow on the ground and record cold in the area. They continue to amaze me.
I asked her to send me pictures. It will be interesting to see how it translates.

Oooo.. neat about your feeder!!
Hey, congrats! And it's pretty, so I totally understand!

I do hope you get a picture, too.
Hee. Thank you! It still kind of bemuses me....

But, yeah! I hope I get a picture, too. Wow.
I've had people ask for permission (and to custom design some, too) to use my doodle/art for tattoo, too. I can't imagine what their motivations are, because I for one, certainly wouldn't put any of my doodle/art on my own skin, let alone live with it for the rest of my life, unless I'm willing to submit for more pain of removal later...

Just be flattered that someone likes your stuff that much. :D It's a compliment.

Oh that is so so cool!! See we're not the only people who think your art is super damn spiffy. :D

Ooooh! So awesome! You should def ask them for a picture when it's done! ¤_¤
That... that is jaw-droppingly awesome! I can't wait to see pics of this tattoo.

On a related note, I've been shopping around for framing services. Custom framing is hideously expensive, but I'm holding out for some after-holiday sales. I can't wait to see how they'll look on the walls. Hubby keeps changing his mind as to where we should put them. ^_^
It is very, very expensive. I should probably cut my papers to more standard sizes... thinking of which. I should probably even figure out what those are. *laughs*

*grins at your Hubby* Cool that you have that in mind.
This might be an odd question, but I was planning on getting either a butterfly or leaf tattoo and I'd love if you would design it. :)
Oh wow, that's an amazing compliment!! (Maybe she could take a picture and show you when she's done?)
